Show Fishing

Discussion in 'Street, Documentary, and Portrait' started by Aushiker, Feb 16, 2017.

  1. Hopefully I haven't missed it, but we seem to be missing a "fishing" images thread. There is an thread for fish, but not it seems fishing. So if you have any fishing photos please do share them here. I envisage both recreational and commercial fishing images being appropriate for this thread.

We packed some short "dock" rods in our suitcase the past summer in Maine. Looking for small mackerel here, caught a few, but didn't take photos (?).

Glad to see this thread... I take lots of fishing pics as my youngest son has competed on the junior national bass fishing level for years, but has just gone to college (will dig some of those up). I also tend to take lots of video clips (and why m4/3 is so great!). Here are a few pics from an offshore trip we did from Outerbanks, North Carolina last summer... and two from my little nephew crabbing on the beach at sunset (the video clips are much more entertaining but too large to post!) Fun!!!

... and here's a few from the NJ State High School Championships on the Susquehanna Flats (upper Chesapeake Bay) fishing for some strong tidal Largemouth Bass... the main water is a 20,000 acre grass flat with an average depth of maybe 4 ft... and there are a bunch of feeder rivers into the flats, in addition to the main Susquehanna (most shots with the 25/1.8, 45/1.8 and then some with the little 40-150).

My current "favourite" shot from a few weeks ago as my friend nets my Yellowtail Kingfish - alas too small and was released after posing for a few photos.
Fill flash might have been a help, but the shadows pulled up fairly well in post processing.
