I am sure - but they can accelerate really fast - which is always the concern - especially if it is windy.
I think the wind helped this one from getting worse, it was being pushed towards the highway, and then mostly bare hills behind that. It's been very hot, dry and windy here, not good for fires.

A little experiment I did a few years ago with rubbing alcohol and a lighter, oh there were some flowers as well.

The Chessman Canyon fire burning below Cedar Breaks National Monument. The fire was lightening started on September 3, and it is just being watched currently. The wind came up while I was there, and the fire almost doubled in size in the 45 minutes I was there.
