More autumn colours anyone? Olympus OM 50mm f/1.8 is my favourite adapted lens. It will capture absolutely strange colours and make a total mess out of the background wide open.

I agree with BDR. I find the image qualities such as colour cast, contrast, micro-contrast, veiling flare etc in these lenses are very aperture and lens focus distance dependent - this explains why they can seem a bit "wild" and unpredictable in use. Even half a stop difference, or a change in position by just 30cm can greatly change a picture. Furthermore, small movements with a manual adapted lens can alter exposures a lot on my M4/3 cameras.

It isn't just an issue for Zuiko OM lenses; the same is true of many of the new Chinese native M4/3 lenses from Meike, 7-Artisans etc. It makes them great choices for "slow photography" when you have time to shoot and rethink, or to bracket exposures, but as you say - they are often too "unpredictable' to nail the shot you want in a hurry. My greatest IQ gain from these lenses has come from fitting the absolutely longest lens hood that is possible without vignetting. Those collapsable 3-position rubber folding ones can be ideal.

Autumn Evening in the English Lake District just a few days ago
Two centuries ago, the poet, John Keats called autumn in Great Britain "the time of mists and mellow fruitfullness" - which is spot on.

This was the view from our window in a holiday rental - so perhaps COVID stopping foreign travel in 2020 makes us appreciate our home countries and regions just a little but more!

Both my "autumn colours" have been taken as 3 frames with the auto-bracket setting for HDR with exposure spread over 3 stops, handheld with a kit zoom and a Lumix G5; fused using one of the preset "landscape" settings with the free-to download Aurora HDR 2018. This is about as simple as HDR can be - and with scenes like this an Aurora HDR 2018 being offerred free to tempt you to buy the 2020 version, there is no excuse not to give it a try! Aurora aligns photo's, so with a wideangle and auto-exposure bracketing tripods are not needed to try this out.

It appears that winter has immediately replaced Fall and has put a boot in fall's rear end.
