fall in VT, feedback encouraged

I'm very new to photography and am anticipating some constructive criticism. The upper left-hand corner is obviously blown out and over-exposed, but I'm not quite sure how to fix it. I look forward to your comments. Thanks- Brandon

Ray, great pics as usual. Also, love the Danbo images sinpig! Bfenner, I'm new too, but get Lightroom or Aperture and watch some tutorials. That is a fantastic image and can be made to look beautiful.

Fall in VT

I'm sure there are many others on the forum with good ideas on this. You could start by using the Manual exposure mode and make two exposures - one for the fore-gound and one for the sky and then stitch the correctly exposed parts together in Photoshop or similar. Another route would be to use a graduated filter to even out the exposure across the picture - which is a nice one. Great colour and shape. Thanks for posting.

I love this image. I think with just a little crop at the top, down to just above the tops of the hills on the top left corner would help. It would carry the eye into the distance, following the river and help lend depth, to an already "deep and wide" vista.

I searched and was surprised I couldn't find a thread related to this, maybe I'm missing it. Either way, shooting fall is one of my favorite times. Although stuff is just now starting to change, the sumac trees here change early and I went to my favorite park last weekend to grab some shots. I plan on getting out a lot in the next weeks. So, northern hemisphere, show us what you've got! :)

Everything in Texas is dead from heat waves, droughts, and huge fires.... No pretty fall for me. Well go straight to hideous ugly dead looking oak trees from this. Lol

Nice set, Zach.

We're just starting to see fall colors here in CT. Some smaller bushes, more than the larger trees... here's one:

Also looking forward to taking some trips north in the coming weekend.

Shot this leaf recently. Not sure if its disease or normal fall decay.

Canon 50mm f1.4 nearly wide open.
