Cows seemingly keeping out of the sun as the day was warming up as we left Le Bleymard and commenced our first climb of the day to Col Santel at 1,195metres. A mere blip on the way it would turn out to be.

Day 8 of 12 – Le Bleymard to Le Pont de Montvert: Walking the Chemin de Stevenson (GR 70 Robert Louis Stevenson Trail) in the south of France.

Some really lovely cow photos in this thread!
Here are some cows at Piana del Voltigno, Abruzzo, Italy, some year ago. They are scattered all over the place and I remember wondering if I should be afraid of them, passing by so close and were just there next to the path, without fence or anything like that.

I was out exploring an old quarry in the Peak District this morning. I could hear mooing and there was plenty of evidence of cattle on the ground so i was hoping to come across some highland cattle to photograph, (They are pretty common in the area but I have never seen any).
Unfortunately they were only regular cows and they were blocking my path. I put my longest lens on, took a few shots and went back the way i came.

I often see road warning signs for cows while driving in the desert, and just as often wonder why the hell would there be a bunch of unattended cows roaming free out here. Whelp, finally saw some. Had to wait for one to get out of the middle of the road for me to drive by.
