Though you should know that the beans only leave oils on glass like that for two reasons: either they're too old or roasted way too dark. Fresh coffee at good roast level is actually quite dry.
As for those greasy old beans, I've got to admit that I like my morning cup dark & short; I've never found those dry, golden beans work well in my stovetop at making it right for me (call it a moral failure on my part).
The other problem here in the PRC is supply, though there is a local roaster who I must start supporting again.
Having said all that, just this arvo I had a spectacularly good espresso at a Kopi Luwak cafe here in Zhuhai (and it was matched by excellent service). I'd even be so bold as to say it was the best cup of mud I've had in China, all for the princely sum of 23 RMB (USD 3.76). I'll go back there (camera in tow).
