Here's a slightly older MG TF. This one was built in 1954 and is powered by a 1250 cc four cylinder engine.

I took these photos last Spring (May 18, 2019) at the annual open house at Ragtops & Roadsters in Perkasie, PA. They open both floors of their wonderful restoration shop to the public and feed us tea and delicious scones with Irish butter. The street is blocked off for the event and filled with customer's cars. It's a must-not-miss event!

You mention ‘austin’, was this car sold as a Austin as well?

Austin built them. I have no idea if they were ever sold under that name. but if they were, it was not in the US.

They were made by Austin at Longbridge England from 1953 to 1961. The original car was called an Austin Metropolitan. In the US they were badged as Nash and later a few as Hudson, when Nash and Hudson merged to form AMC . At first fitted with a 1200cc A40 engine and later with a 1500cc B series. They always reminded me of a fairground dodgem car.

I noticed the Lotus banner in a post above, One of my biggest regrets in a moment of madness was selling my Elise, I think its somewhere in Poland now. boy do I miss it, especially with the situation as it now is, just reminiscing of many happy hours in the garage.

The car you once owned and sold and regret selling. We all have been there. Idea for a thread? Show a pic of that car, and a story?

I don't think I really regret anything I sold. I guess my Lotus 7 would have been a lot nicer to use in San Diego than Portland just because of the weather, but even that is not enough to make me really want another one - I had it, I enjoyed it, but I am not missing having one in my life. I would like another 2CV based car in my life, especially if it was an Ami 6 Berline, but I had a break (the wagon) which did not have the crazy backward slanted rear window, so I am OK with not having it anymore.

Closest I have to a car like that is my 1991 BMW 318i with the twin-cam M42 engine - but I did not sell this car, someone ran into it while I was standing in a red light and it was written off. Unfortunately, this combination (E30 chassis and M42 engine, 4 doors) was very rare, 1 year only - and less were made than the first gen M3 - so I doubt I will ever find another. The 2 door had the Recaro seats which I hate with a passion, even tho the rest of the car is pretty much identical).

I had a 2001 Subaru Impreza RS that I liked a lot - and would not mind another, I only sold it because our town in Marin County did not allow street parking - I would not mind another, but if I were, I would get the 4 door, since the 2 door I had - had doors that were too big making it really hard to get in and out of in tight places - so I am not really sorry I sold it. I used to rallycross my wife's car, but she got tired of it - which is why I rallycrossed the BMW. I bought the Impreza to make it a dedicated rallycross car, but once the BMW was totaled - the Subaru had to become a backup family car - which was really hard to do with 2 small kids and no rear doors.

I do not think I have a photo of the Subaru in action, unfortunately.
