It seems to be under fairly heavy braking. Maybe that's what you're seeing? And it seems the wheel is cranked a bit left to avoid the pedestrian.
I believe Michael is talking about the Prowler, not the VW.

well (headscratching), @WaltP, I thought you implied that the Prowler tried to avoid the pedestrian photographer @rloewy and the photo got warped by the too slow shutter speed

Brother of the VW Beetle. It's a 1937 Mercedes-Benz Coach Decouvrable Type 170 H. The car's similarity to the Beetle is no accident, as both were designed by Ferdinand Porsche. The Beetle was designed first, but the 170H went into production first. Seen in Cité de l'Automobile, Holden, France.

Something about a gigantic blower on a small block V8 with a decal in LITERS doesn't sit right with me. I mean, I love the metric system as much as the next guy, but that's a damn Olds 403, not a 6.6l.

Great shots. Is that the Cine Ektar again?

By the looks of the front bumper, we’re a 1979 or newer. There was 6.6l version of those; my brother owned one. Albeit, without the ridiculous super charger lol

I think these got the Olds 403 V8 in maybe '77–'79. It's a period correct engine, that's not my beef. It's just calling it a 6.6l rather than a 403 is what chaps me. Just cuz it's accurate, don't make it right. ;)

I blame Jimmy Carter.

You must’ve really hated it when Ford Mustangs had 5.0 written all over them 😂
