Yay for much reduced Covid restrictions. Slowly getting back to the new normal. Saw this this arvo. Not too many of these beasts around I'd hazard a guess. 720HP of bent 8 shoving just under 1000kg down the road.

I spoke to the couple as they got out and asked how long they'd had it.
The chap replied "Only a few weeks; it was a present for my 80th Birthday".

I think you might be underselling the "prowess" of the Chrysler company design department at that time. This things looks pretty close to stock to me.

I got to join a seething crowd of avid car show-goers in seeing a rarely-open private car collection, which included more Lincolns than you could poke a stick at, plus others, and a side Show & Shine of visitors' classic cars. There were so many people, which I find very unsettling these days, and I certainly didn't do my best work. This was a fundraiser for a children's hospital, and apparently raised over $30,000!

You're too kind, Richard, but thanks for the encouragement. The Lincolns were outrageous, and beautifully curated, but that Eldorado was my favourite.

I would like to point out that technically, the first image is not a Lincoln, the mk 2 continental was made when ford wanted the continental to be a stand alone super high-end brand of it's own... They reverted to absorb it into Lincoln later...

Well that first one is awesome. I’m no pro at old cars, but I never realized they made a two door version of the continental. I like it!
