Love exploring in this old car. Other than ground-clearance - no real issues taking this 27+ years old car with close to 200K miles just about anywhere.

Searching for a "bargain basement" beater to help out a family member. I found this.

It doesn't look or drive like a "bargain basement" car, so I quickly grabbed it. One owner, all records, all dealer maintenance, 9.9/10 outside and inside.

I've been off this forum for a few months, time to catch up with some car photos from that time:

We'll have to compare notes on owning high-mileage NA Miatas at some point... absolutely brilliant cars.
Not too much to say, honestly. They just work.

Mine was my race car (ITB iirc at the time) for 4 years in the 90s until I fancied myself able to drive faster cars, been my daily driver since that 90s. It lives outside - so it's paint looks questionable, but otherwise, just normal maintenance and it goes strong. Getting close to it's 3rd timing belt replacement, I believe it's on it's 4th battery. One wheel bearing had to be replaced and the radiator had a leak 4 or 5 years ago. Otherwise, really nothing was done to it. It just goes.

Mid ‘90s japanese cars/bikes have been the ultimum pinnacle of carbuilt/bikebuilt reliability. Later on, the early ‘90s japanese economy bubble burst finally affected the industry with all too much outsourcing for the not JDM markets. Sigh...
