@Robstar1963 it is in the waiting list along rewatching Grand Prix (1966), Le Mans (1973?) and maybe Rush(‘15) to get in the proper mood!

Anyone intrigued should also look at On Any Sunday (‘72) and Hitting the Apex along TT3D Closer To The Edge for the 2 wheel side of fast motorized wheel vehicles, though mostly documentaries. Then there are the Faster and Fastest and I do not know of any similarly good but dirt oriented counterparts, car or motorcycles, maybe something with Michele Mouton starring or so , SWMBO not looking right now :hide:
The 24 hour war is good too.

The bump on the roof is known as the "Gurney Bubble", and it was added to the GT40 to accommodate Dan Gurney's height. Gurney and won Le Mans in this car in 1967, and then famously won the Belgian Grand Prix the following week, in his Eagle Formula 1 car.
I believe it was called a Gurney Dome.

Beautiful Alfa
Always admired these right down to this colour.
Would have liked one but the dealer had just ventured into BMW and sparked a long love of them for me. Offered a deal too good to refuse so the beautiful Alfa stayed in the yard.

I bought a BMW 2002 because I could not find an Alfa for a very long time. I enjoyed that car a lot, but it was not an appropriate backup family car (could not put a child seat in the rear), so sold it, bought an E30 BMW which I loved even more - would have probably stayed with me forever that car, but someone ran into it at a red light and totaled it. Bought my Alfas a couple of years later. They are wonderful machines, can be a bit temperamental - but well worth the hassle, imho.

Well. How about that! My alternative was a 1600, then that fabulous 2002.
And yes like you not a real family car. I bought a 3.0SI and moved eventually to a 528i.
Beautiful smooth machines. Never got into Alfa's once I was hooked on BMW

We took my Citroën to her first car show (I don't really care to show my cars, as they're not in show condition) this weekend, a fundraiser for families with kids who have cancer. It's always a great show. I took my EM10mkII, which seems suddenly quite tiny since using a GX8, and Canon FD 50mm S.C. f1.8 adapted with Roxsen focal reducer.

That Citroen of yours is gorgeous, but I think it at least deserves a bit of a polish.
Great photos Melanie.

ID or DS ?? the DS and the CX have always been my dream cars, all quirks included!
DSpecial, actually, the descendant of the ID, which means it's less mechanically complicated, though still an utter mystery to me despite my efforts to understand!

She really does deserve that, but got me as her custodian. Fortunately, people are mesmerized just the same. At least I vacuumed and washed her.
