Looking out a downtown condo rental window, into a very narrow alley, and watched as the tow truck driver maneuvered this car into the garage. The window was quite dirty, which worked well for this I think.

My old reliable. Looks rough from living outside and being driven daily (before Covid-19) - but just keeps on driving with almost no problems. I got out my old '67 Alfa the day before because old cars need to be driven, and it broke a clutch cable 10 miles from home (making for an interesting drive back), the kid's school ride had the battery fail (old, not used for a while because of the shelter in place thing) - and we had found out that a battery cable needs to be changed - so it is nice to jump into an old car, go for an early morning drive - and know that it is just going to keep on going...

I have driven 2 cars over the years with broken clutch slave cylinder. It's fun, start the engine , let it warm up, turn it off, select a gear start the engine and floor the throttle to pull away. Blip the throttle to change gear. traffic lights are fun. but at least I was able to get the car home.

This was not my first rodeo also. An old BMW 2002 and Subaru Impreza had clutch slave leaking - but in this case - and in the past with an old Hyundai Excel and a Jeep CJ6 - I actually had broken clutch cable. Since there are not a lot of cars on the road, I was able to run some stop signs with no issue, had only 2 red lights on the way, and luckily both were on a downslope - so could put the car in neutral while waiting, and letting it roll when turned green - and rev match to bang into 2nd to continue on my trip.

I am afraid that if I ever wanted to run for office - this repeated self abuse would be rightfully held against me.

Ford Anglia 123E - Mid to Late 60s by Andrew Priest, on Flickr

I am pretty sure that this abandoned car is a 1967 or thereabouts Ford Anglia 123E. I was surprised to see it here as the parks people were funded to clear the bush of such wrecks following the declaration of larges expanses of the bush as national parks. I assume this one was missed for some reason.

The picture below is from Paradise California after the fires -
Always sad to see these aftermath of the fires, and know it's only a smidgeon of the problems.

Is there a story to the old Dodge?
Lovely scene. Complete with old bowser (pump or what you call them)

Agreed.

As for the Dodge, it’s sitting in a state historical park in California called Bodie. Essentially an old west gold mining ghost town kind of deal. Actually not really sure why now that I think about it, as it’s not really correct for the period at all...

Amazing what can be achieved building on VW Beetle components of 50 years ago ...
