I live in onion town called Ootmarsum, which is located in the eastern part of The Netherlands. In the early days Ootmarsum was well known for it's onions. therefore during carnival it's called Siepelstad, which means onion town.
This morning I found an onion at the frontdoor.
I took a picture, and thought it would be nice to share this with you and start a new thread.
Text on paper: To act without sense must be possible, with this Trio we already have won the Carnival. Marquis Jordy.

    Commemts are welcome, thanks.

    Have a nice weekend.

    Kind regards, Herman

I love Ootmarsum! We go there nearly every year with the whole family and spend a couple of days in De Wiemsel, my favourite hotel in the whole world. That part of The Netherlands is very, very beautiful.

    Nice onion

Herman, I just found a smaller and much better view of your photograph in the gallery here: https://www.mu-43.com/gallery/member-galleries/p971-carnival-onion.html Now that photo really does the onion its true justice.:2thumbs:

Thanks so much for sharing the history of your town's carnival - it must have been a great surprise to open your door that morning!

P.S. Perhaps one of our more technically savvy members can give you some pointers about the size of images posted within threads. But in the mean time if you haven't had a chance to read this "sticky" in Housekeeping, see if it helps: https://www.mu-43.com/showthread.php?t=316

    Thanks !

    for reply.
Yip, it's a large file size. I got to get familiar with this community.
It will take a little time.
I just noticed I was unable to post to previous posting?
    (I may have missed something)

Where are the mu-43 guys showing carnival photos?:

    Enjoy your weekend.

    Kind regards, Herman

Thanks Robert. Appreciate your advice. For me, however this whole thread is now so wide it's gone beyond the confines of my computer screen.

    kai.e.g., those are magical images!

Kai, your two shots here are absolutely stunning!

Thanks for sharing, and I've corrected Herman's original post to copy the 'medium size' code from below his image in the Gallery.

    Cheers

Thanks for the comments! Also, I just realised that the original thread subject called for just ONE photo. Sorry about that - maybe my 2nd one can make up for the slow response so far

Sure it makes up for it but now it's high time for you to spread yourself around a bit. Why not start in the welcome and introductions thread?

I'd love to see more of your work and hope you'll also get involved in some of the discussions, as well. I do love those two dreamy images.

And I've now adjusted our "Insert" popup tool to give options for medium size or thumbnail images only (with link back to original size or gallery if desired).
