The Arthur M Anderson, downbound Lake Huron In the Straits of Mackinaw on Sunday. The Anderson was the last ship to be in contact with the Edmund Fitzgerald the night she sank, November 10th,1975 and was the first ship on scene to look for survivors.

Completing our annual migration from Lake Huron to Lake Michigan for the summer season today, we passed the Lake Freighter 'Alpena' shortly after we left Mackinaw City. Here the Alpena approaches and passes under the Mackinaw Bridge this morning headed east through the Straits of Mackinaw and eventually south, as we followed a reciprocal heading west and eventually south.

A random tug passing us today as it came out into Lake Michigan from the direction of Charlevoix headed off to do what tugboats do somewhere on the Lake.
