This is ferry Crux Australis moored up at Puerto Yungay, Chile. The ferry runs once a week from Puerto Natales to Puerto Yungay and should take 42 hours. Our trip was 48 hours. The second photo shows our motorcycle Tigger (orange Triumph Tiger 800XC) on deck.

I was walking Fradley Junction towpath this afternoon, and I noticed what appears to be a large piece of toilet paper.

Upon further inspection, there is a part sunken boat underneath it. Fancy abandoning a valuable commodity like that?

That boat needs some sorting out as well.

Yes, as Richard has correctly pointed out, it's a car transporter. I can see on the full res image that the green cubes that look like containers are sitting on pillars, and each pillar has a door hatch that corresponds with a gap in the safety barrier. I've no idea what they are, but they look like a permanent fixture to the ship

I suspect the green boxes are vents for the car decks. You need a lot of air flow to handle the car exhaust when loading and unloading, and then at sea, they close everything up tight.

That thought crossed my mind, but I don't see any ducts or intakes on them. I've also thought maybe housings for motors that operate movable decks?

Here is a close-up of them from one vehicle carrier.
