Today's ale is described as a feijoa NZIPA. I was curious about this as I love feijoas, but couldn't see the flavour integrating into beer. as it is, I can't taste feijoa at all, however it's a pleasant drink, brewed in Freemantle Western Australia.

Had to try this one as Amundsen is part of my address. Tastes rather robust to me, but rather pleasant.

Urbanaut Triple Imperial Hazy Ale - 14% Epic beer which mercifully comes in a cute wee can so as not to get too blotto. Really nice, rich, creamy flavours. I have another similar Urbanaut in the fridge which I can't wait to try today.

Beerbliotek 'Would I lie to you?' 12.1% Barley Wine - mellow drinking & an excellent barley wine. Only catch is it seems to be an absolute magnet for sand-flies - keep it covered or drink it in-doors; I had 6 that drowned in the brew that I had to fish out over the course of draining the glass.

Morland Old Speckled Hen 5%. 'Une Anglais Pale Ale' indeed. Nice, mellow, easy drinking english ale. Wonder if we'll be getting more classic UK ales through the beer club? Used to drink a lot of Green King when I lived in East Anglia and had a pub round the corner.

In the 1980's I briefly lived in East Anglia in a little village called East Bergholt, near Colchester. I lived next to one of the village pubs!

This proving the word "Hazy" has now been completely over used as a marketing term rather than an actual description when the beer is obviously not at all Hazy.

To be fair, if I'd used a larger glass the last 1/3rd was almost soup-like in consistency - super-hazy. But yeah, the first/second pour into the small glass was crystal clear. Probably just as well for my carpet otherwise I'd still be smelling the beer this morning
