Urbanaut Beer Blenders - Szechuan Kolsch & Yuzu Super Sour 4% & 5% respectively.

First, the can in its unopened state

Second, the two seperated mini-cans

Third, the Yuzu Super Sour on its own - not bad, I've been working on my sour-appreciation over the year and this was pretty good & very refreshing without being obnoxious

Fourth, the Szechuan Kolsch - OK, couldn't really get much heat, but it did tingle the nostrils a bit

Fifth, the combination - OK, certainly light & refreshing, the peppery Kolsch takes a little bit of the sour edge off and the combination has more of a hoppy beery vibe to it but nothing particularly overpowering

Interesting experiment, I certainly like the concept and I'd try other combos. A nice black & tan combo would be good.

Eddyline Trail Carver American Pale Ale 5.1% - lovely hoppy full flavoured beer. Would drink again.

Nice malty red but it's got nothing on Epic's Roxanne or Nomad's Rudolph... Not enough resin!

"Brewed from the remains of a hot American Summer. Desert red & toasted to perfection. Expect bitter sweet twists and turns that send you down a citrus spiral of refreshment. Red XPA; an all American hop line up with zesty notes of Grapefruit and Orange, all balanced by a sweet malty backbone"

Got meself the 3 Bean Stout from Lervig from Stavanger, Norway... Very nice... strong vanilla flavours along with cocoa and the tonka bean. Maybe would have preferred it if it was just a teeny bit less sweet. I think this beer fits very well to the christmas mood :))

Sorry AlexMachine but your picture of the beer in a jar is just a little disconcerting. You see, after 8 days, I finally had a catheter removed and that beer in the jar is a little close to home. :)

Collaboration between 8-Wired & Moon Dog - Byg is Beautiful Barley wine 11% - potent and tasty. Haven't come across a barley wine I haven't liked.

Nomad (AU) & Deep Creek (NZ) collaboration - Intrepid IPA 6.5%. Really tasty, slightly herby and smooth drinking. Would definitely quaff again.

What are people drinking for Chrimbo ?

I made the mistake of opening a 15% 10 yr old De Molen 'Bommen & Granaten'. Lovely drop, however I suspect it was never intended to be drunk by the pint.

Easy drinking summer beer, both zesty (as advertised) and refreshing...

Some very quiet x-mas / new years drinking...

Lost Cargo Vienna Lager 5.3% - easy summer drinking, not bad but not great - nice enough.

Whistling Sisters Red Pils 4.3% - pretty good, not quite as flavoursome as a full-on red-ale but the lighter beer makes for better summer drinking

Catching up on some old beer club brews that I'd missed drinking...

Kekules Dream from Outlier Cartel, a very hazy American IPA - really nice mellow beer.

Zeelandt Bishops Kick Hefeweizen 4.9% - pours like something german & wheaty, tastes much much much better than it smells (like a much cheaper nastier beer). Would quaff again.
