I have been visiting this abandoned cabin for over 10-years. I believe it was last lived in sometime during the 1970's. This year during the crazed Covid camping crisis, someone decided to break or shoot most of the windows out of it. Now the weather can get in and it will deteriorate faster.

What a shame. It looks like it was once a great cabin. Little work and it could still be.

This old structure is out in the Carrizo Plains National Monument in California. It stands amid miles of solar panels that are encroaching on it as seen through the window crop below.

Just finished watching New Orleans take Tampa Bay apart 38-3!

It is my understanding that this complex is now the property of the National Park Service...who may have plans for it but this is just my guess. Also think this was part of the Elk Flats Ranch that was not acquired by the NPS when the Grand Teton N.P. was first being established and was acquired subsequently, maybe piece-meal. Have heard that there are ~75 cabins, ranches etc, within the GTNP Boundary, that to date have not come available for purchase or the NPS has not offered to buy them out, as yet...NPS money is always in short supply. Some, like these, appear abandoned as family's died off, lost interest or left the area for whatever reason. Me, I just enjoy photographing them when I can

I love old mountain huts, bush huts and this looks interesting

All that's left of a settler's cottage. Probably a bushfire, but possibly caused by a chimney fire - a very common cause of cottages burning down.
