I'll look for it.

The 1920's era high school in the next town east from us was a castle like that. the auditorium was humongous. Full fly system over the stage, I think a functioning orchestra pit elevator, and a bleeping pipe organ. They were not just schools, they were centers of civic pride. Fortunately that structure was saved; it became luxury condos. I don't know what they did with the auditorium though.

Now THAT sounds like a real monster! Glad it was saved.

An old farm near High Bradfield in Yorkshire (using the dramatic tone filter, which is growing on me!).

A local rancher told me this cabin was referred to as the "Trapper Hays" cabin and he had no other history tidbits. Evidently, Trapper Hays had been long gone and it had been collecting refuse for many years. This cabin is located along the Strawberry River and the first photo shows the Strawberry Pinnacles on the way to the cabin. It is situated in a small grove of trees adjacent to a hay field, very peaceful,

Looks like a fixer upper! Solid in parts, only thorough cleaning needed and of course some windows and doors.
(I actually mean it, the log part of the cabin looks solid!)

After hearing that a site I visited in 2014 has been razed, I went back through the unused portion of the set I took there and gleaned some additional shots. Scranton Lace. First couple are iPhone 5 Hipstamatic, rest are GX1/p20 except for the 4th which is a p14-42 II. I also took some shots with my Rokfish that are posted in the Samyang 7.5mm f/3.5 showcase.

That's very much the feeling I get when exploring such sites. It's hard to believe, but one day seven years ago the city just locked the doors and walked away, leaving everything behind.
Absolutely unreal.
What, why. I'm boggled at how that can be left behind like that?

That school is almost unbelievable, not only because they seem to have just everything behind there, but especially the condition of the interior: Most of the stuff looks pretty much intact or even in decent condition - obviously mindless vandals haven't discovered this gem yet. Let's hope they never will.

Old coaches in Germany, these were actually part of a once important train - they were used by the GDR government and had quite interesting purposes like conference rooms, rolling offices and radio communication or even an operating room for medical purposes.
