I first came upon this property about 15 years ago when asked to do some work there.
I was horrified at the amount of neglect to what once was one of the grandest mansions in the county.
Originally constructed in around 1800, it was finally abandoned from the 1950's.

There is good news however.
The estate was sold to a local farmer, who has now commenced work in restoring the property to its former glory.
My wife is fascinated by the old farmhouses and country dwellings, so after discovering that there's a public footpath going through the land, we went for a walk and I managed to get a few photos of work they'd started doing there.
It appears that they were renovating the old barns, with a view to renting them out to generate some income, to help pay for the main restoration.

I've since learnt that work on the old mansion has commenced and that it is almost ready for occupation.
This one was taken in 2006 when it had been abandoned for about 20 years.
I've cycled past it every month since then and although it's still there, it has been completed hidden as nature has taken its course.
