Sometimes things only look abandoned. Apparently, these places are used in the summer.

I think this is a very old oil filter.

Ran across this place (Nova Elite Farms) on a trip down a side road (near Tusket, Nova Scotia). I don't know the history, and there doesn't seem to be anything on-line about what was here and what happened.

I'd love to get inside. This is just west of the town I live in a little burg that was founded in the early 1800's. The town went downhill when the railroad passed through my town instead. All that left are some houses, a building that looks like it used to be a town hall, and two store fronts. The church was built in 1849.

I have an aluminum print of a 2014 take hanging on my wall that had been in a show, and I remember a show visitor remarked being bothered with some deficiencies in compositional symmetry. I took it at the time as an admission of this person's tendency towards OCD behavior, but now that the print greets me in my kitchen I keep thinking about that remark, and decided today to try and use LR's guided transforms to see if I could get closer to that ideal. Not at all convinced this is better, but need to live with it for a while. Abandoned power plant in Philly. GX7/p14-42MK2

Found this at c. 4390 W Elwood St., Phoenix, AZ.. Coordinates (Google Earth) are https://earth.google.com/web/@33.415...0003116h,0t,0r

Shot with my newish EM1.3 and Leica 12-60/2.8-4, all handheld and shot with HHHR, which substantially improves resolution and lowers noise, thereby increasing dynamic range.. Files are 8160x6120=49.9MP.

Have Oly F2.8 Pros, the 12-40 and 40-150, coming tomorrow to replace the Leica 12-60 and 50-200 2.8-4s.

Another meander this afternoon, this time to the west side of the Valley of the Sun, AKA Maricopa County, Arizona.. Again, shot handheld with an EM1.3 and Leica 12-60/2.8-4, using HHHR mode.

Thanks to the far-higher amount of rain the Valley has had this nonsummer*, there's a very small stream in the river bottom.

Someones' Home Sweet Home.. Anyone recognize State Farm Stadium, home of the Arizona Cardinals NFL football team?

* We never have winter in the Sonoran Desert which Phoenix occupies, we have six months of summer and six months of nonsummer.

Tomorrow, I think I'll reshoot the water feature at a local park.. Also tomorrow, my Oly 12-40 and 40-150 Pro lenses arrive.
