I recently acquired an M. Zuiko 9-18mm and I love it. I have the focal length covered now, besides speed, is there any reason to keep the 14mm pancake?

I use the 9-18 as a walk around and the 14mm when I specifically want to travel super light and inconspicuous

Besides speed/brightness, probably just physical size.

You would have to look into samples at some test sites, but at 14mm, it's possible that the pancake might also be sharper than the 9-18 (complete speculation on my part).

I sold my 14mm pancake awhile ago, when I realized 99% of the time I was using the kit lens at 14mm instead and the difference in size was more than negated by the flexibility I gained from the zoom. Haven't missed it at all (this was during the day - at night I use the 20 or 25)

Recently got the 9-18mm too. What a tiny beauty!

Super helpful, thanks guys! I'm really leaning towards selling the 14mm.

    I'll take it.
I'm learning I can't have too many lenses, especially natives.

...across the frame and has less barrel distortion.

I'm keeping it because it's tiny and pretty fast, so I carry it in my pocket when I'm out with a body and the 20/1.7.

I'm a big advocate of the 14mm - it gets great results and it's so conveniently sized. Given that they are so cheap on eBay now, I'd keep it as the sale value probably won't be worth letting it go.

sold my 14 together with the GF1... kinda missed it though. but the 20mm is so versatile i can opt for it when going for a pancake. for the wide, i have the 7-14 to do the job.

I have the 7-14 too, but after checking the prices on ebay, this is going to be hard to resist.

I was just checking my pics by lens via Lightroom.

My most used lens is my 14mm indoors wide open. Usually around 1/60 second at ISO 1000-1600. It's hard to get that wide with that shutter speed and ISO at that price with any other current m43 lens. It does have a niche, IMO.

That's so funny . . . it's exactly what I found. It's my most-used prime. I think one of the main reasons is that it's so small that with the E-PM1 I can slip the whole thing in my pocket, so I take it everywhere. The 14-45mm is my second-most-used lens, even though it overlaps the FL, because it's so versatile. So if it were me I'd definitely keep the 14mm, even if I had that focal length covered in a zoom, because of its tiny size.
