Are there any legacy ~50mms which are sharp wide open or 1 stop down?
Zuiko OM 50mm f1.4 and f1.8
Does a 45mm count? Contax G 45mm Planar
Yep, 45mm counts.
50mm 1.4 super takumar
Leica Summicron-R and Summilux-R
Zenitar 50mm 1.7
Someone compared a bunch of them a while ago and posted the results HERE (the samples start at the bottom of the first page).
I like my canon nfd 50mm f1.4. Sharp wide open with very little spherical aberration. Chromatic aberration is nicely controlled as well.
I stopped looking into other nifty-fifties when I got it.
I should say, there is quiet a bit of sample variation among these old lenses. So while these discussions give an idea of whats good out there, alot of it is luck.
Wide open at what max aperture? f1.2, f2.8?
How about some pix to support the endorsements?!?
Anywhere from f1.8-f2
How about the minolta 45mm f2?
Olympus OM 50mm @ F1.4 on GX7
