I still use this camera occasionally, and despite its age i think it still takes perfectly reasonable photos - this is one from the spring of 2017, when took it for its annual outing. I always liked the creamy rendering the D60 came out with in some instances, and I think it's amazing that its 6MP sensor was the bees knees in 2001!

These are a few shots taken in 2018 at Aiken Mine in the Mojave National Preserve. According to online resources, this cinder cone mine shut down operations without reason, and everything was abandoned. A lot of the broken machinery and vehicles still exists as well as huge mounds of cinder cone gravel that was mined from the lava mountains where is resides. Have you ever been to a remote place, and felt uneasy about it. I don't spook easy, but this place has a one eye creature that was following me around in the night. From its shape and size, I suspect it was a Coyote or Bobcat or large fox, or some kind of big dog. Nevertheless, it caused me to leave the area early and head home.

There are no lights or electricity at this location. As evident of the tampered junction boxes and cut power lines. Thus, I used LED lamps and a LED flashlight to create my own illumination to bring out the color and details of the area. That, and some long exposure allowed for some light painting. Also, there was a crescent moon in the south that helped. That yellow glow in the North is from Las Vegas over 80+ miles away.
