I started getting back into photography with the GF3, it wasn't that amazing to be honest but way better than anything else I was using at the time:

But the EP3 is another story- paired with the Sigma 60 it's something special:

I'm super tempted to get a GF1/2 or EP3 to fill my digital retro 12MP needs.
After some confirmation/feedback -
  • Am I right in thinking the sensor in the GF1 & 2 is pretty much the same (theres an expanded ISO range but is that just a gimmick)?
    • People still seem to prefer the ergonomics of the GF1 over the 2?
  • Pretty sure the EP1 & 2 sensors are the same?
  • How about the EP3 sensor?
  • What was the last/best 12MP Micro-Four-Thirds soap-bar/faux-rangefinder body?

I think the GF1, 2 & 3 all have the same sensor, not certain though. I can tell you the EP3 is in a completely different class to the GF3 (which was a downgrade from 1 & 2 apparently). Its a truly sweet camera. I gave mine to my daughter, with the promise that I get to borrow it from time to time. I recommend it highly, the colors from that sensor are amazing.

Just bought a GF1 - looking forward to some more 12MP action.

In the meantime E-PM1 & the 12-32

Finally, some GF-1 action. Doesn't seem to suffer from the E-P1 issue whereby strong colours would blow out (Reds & Yellows in particular).

The EP-1 was my first Foray into M43. I was happy with 43rds, but was drawn by the size, aesthetics/features. The color output was great, but the LCD/ISO/focus speed had it's downfalls. These are from 2012.

I recently printed this one in memorandum of my buddy Nibbles who sadly crossed the rainbow bridge 2/1/19.

This one has been on my work desktop for a while now. Both taken the same day after getting the 45mm F1.8, which was a big upgrade from the 17mm Pancake. I would have gotten more use out of this little camera if they had more primes like this available earlier on.

All photos taken with the Panasonic LX-100 at Blue Mountain in Collingwood, Ontario. It's a great travel camera and I really enjoy playing around with the multi-aspect sensor which maintains a constant 12 MP.
