Papa was perched by the opening, squawked at me then flew away. Then I heard another squawk and then mama stuck her head out of the nest and a few minutes flew off to find papa. Only got pics of mama though. BTW : Red breasted Woodpeckers, very common to Texas and to my property thankfully.

@Mountain_Man_79 Chris, which lens is that? Has it got a filter on it? If so, what filter?

The E-500 I have used was a LOT sharper than that, but only after the owner binned the original filter on my advice ...

It was a kit 14-45. No filter. The full res version looks a bit better, but I feel like it didn’t nail focus on this shot, and a couple others today. Mostly it seems sharp though.

That sort of subject makes things difficult.

My 14-45 is pretty good, but it had a questionable reputation back when it was released. We all know that sometimes that sort of reputation is well deserved, but mostly it's BS and snobbery.

I have decent grade Hoya filters on each of my lenses, with two exceptions.
