the near far nord, eh!
That looks like the little bugger who tried to take a nip at my toe as I was turning souvlaki on the BBQ last night!

Got warm enough yesterday I had sandles on, and apparently my toes snuck under the BBQ where Alvin was resting. Pretty sure my toe doesn’t look like a peanut!

Tonight I’ll be wearing steel toed boots - not taking any chances!

Lying on the hard stones of the garden path to get down to eye level. Sore .... but worth it.

I saw this fella working his way down the top of my fence while I was waiting to catch a glimpse of a new pair of hummingbirds in the yard. I stood up and he froze long enough for me to snap a few and then he took off sprinting along the top. Wish I had half the balance!

The fearsome Black Momba Squirrel hiding in the canopy of the Boardman River Jungle in Traverse City. They are famous for their ferocious, unprovoked attacks on nuts and berries. Occasionally peanut butter on rye falls victim to their insatiable hunger.

PhotoTip #6,842. When shooting gray squirrels at 3200 I it helps to have a background of birdseed to hide the noise. Often you can find the 50lb. bags on sale at Tractor Supply stores and fill sandwich bags to carry on day trips. (ok, so that was PhotoTip #6843.)

Be Advised: Occasionally this sometimes attracts birds.

There has been a firewood pile in the back yard for years. For years it has been untouched other than to serve as a perch for passing animals, birds, ants, etc. Apparently there must have been a vote that took place recently with the Forest Commision mandating the removal of said wood pile.

I don't think I've ever seen a squirrel so intent on destroying innocent logs. Houses and garages maybe, but logs...not so much. Of course there's a lake about 100 feet from this wood pile and there are beavers in that lake, so maybe he's been watching them and now thinks he's a beaver.
