I was thinking it’s a city squirrel. Around here everything is wild and would never be able to get that close. Hence why my default lens is the PL100-400.Curious

Lots of peanuts! There's a park nearby with very friendly squirrels that are accustomed to people. Toss some peanuts at them and they'll slowly approach you.Curious

These are Jump Up Chipmunks (tamias bounci). They look very similar, but unless cornered, this species is relatively docile. Of course, they are at least as docile as a wild animal can be. They have been named 'Jump Up Chipmunks' because they like to jump up on things and stare at you until you bring them nuts.uncanny resemblance to the drop-chipmunk in the wildlife thread
