An evening walk with the dog down a local trail led to this chance meeting with a young squirrel. She was very comfortable with my presence despite the dog and almost seemed like she to wanted to be photographed, jumping from the rail to a few branches only to stop and strike the pose. Squirrel pics are a dime a dozen in these parts and I've almost gotten to the point where I tune them out, but this little critter wouldn't allow me to pass without documenting her cuteness.

Love squirrels :).

The nearest equivalents we have in Australia are ring tail and brush tail possums (marsupials). Both very much nocturnal.
I was today years old when I found out there aren’t any squirrels in Australia. Initially, I felt bad for you. Then I remembered you guys hoard all the cool animals. Like quokkas. No fair you get to have all the quokkas.

This guy is half the size of all the neighborhood squirrels but when he's around he is like the bird seed security guard. He chases off all comers, protecting the bounty for himself, which he consumes voraciously.

This guy is starting to change clothes. The calendar says spring but it was snowing pretty good earlier today. He may want to hang on to some of that fur for a few more days.

This photo was taken with my em-10 mk II and the Panasonic 25mm 1.7 lens.
My girlfriend is in the background feeding a squirrel peanuts. The squirrels are very friendly at this park.

My first squirrel shot while walking down a trail with my brand new today em5iii. I think I'm going to like this camera!
