Which lake is this...it looks familiar and I'm sure I have fished it...just can't place it. For over 25 years we fished all through the Sierra's while our kids were growing up. Never missed a Crowley opener...would try to get there on Thursday to get my boat in and miss the mayhem of Friday and Saturday!!
The columns at Crowley lake are my bane! I’ve attempted to get to them several times, but need a slightly more capable vehicle.

Anyway, this is South Lake. You hang a left on the way to Lake Sabrina to get here. Pretty popular, so perhaps you have fished it. The trail leads off to a split, where you can continue on to either Long Lake or Treasure Lakes.

Last Saturday, we went on a nice hike, called "Three Castles": a 12 km loop to the south of Bruges, Belgium. The castles were all built around 1900 and are now in use as restaurants or for ceremonies.

The start was at Castle Tillegem:

Wooded tracks made for a shaded walk, leading to several farms and orchards.

About 1/3rd of the way, we arrived at Castle Tudor:

We went from wood to heather:

And from heather again into a wood.

The third castle is called Castle Beisbroek, now a planetarium (the observation dome is to the left behind the large tree).

The hike ends at some old farmhouses, now in use as holiday homes.
