by Andrew Priest, on Flickr

Climbing now pass the 1300 m mark into the higher reaches of the Foret Domaniale du Goulet. This area is known as Esfatte Brayes. We soon left the D 120 as we entered the forest.

Day 7 of 12 – Chasserades to Le Bleymard: Walking the Chemin de Stevenson (GR 70 Robert Louis Stevenson Trail) in the south of France.

Sometimes you have to stop to get the sand out of your shoes :)

L'Herm Alt 892m Chemin de Stevenson Trail, France -2018-28
by Andrew Priest, on Flickr

L'Herm, our high point for the day at 892m. From here we could look down on Le Monastier-sur-Gazeille our final destination for the day, some 4 km more of walking. By this stage, Anne was in a lot of pain with her leg so it was welcoming knowledge knowing we had only about an hours walking ahead of us.

Day 1 of 12 - Le Puy-en-Velay to Le Monastier-sur-Gazeille: Walking the Chemin de Stevenson (GR 70 Robert Louis Stevenson Trail) in the south of France.

The Wattle Trail, Jarrahdale – JWR #001
by Andrew Priest, on Flickr

With the relaxing of Covid-19 restrictions somewhat and having a few days leave, I took the opportunity to take my Salsa Mukluk fatbike for an overnighter to the Munda Biddi campsite at Wungong.

First brief section was sneaking out of Jarrahdale on the Wattle Trail (a walking trail). Despite the signs, I still missed a turn 😊

My GPS says that this is a trail. Probably the last time I will hike any of it.
