Chimney GR70 Trail Marker - Chemin de Stevenson-2018-D7-08 by Andrew Priest, on Flickr

The French all the way along the Chemin de Stevenson (GR 70) where very passionate about the trail. This trail marker on a chimney is one such example.

Day 7 of 12 – Chasserades to Le Bleymard: Walking the Chemin de Stevenson (GR 70 Robert Louis Stevenson Trail) in the south of France.

Track clearing – French Safety Standards – 2018-D7-15 by Andrew Priest, on Flickr

A very friendly local clearing the Chemin de Stevenson (GR 70 Robert Louis Stevenson Trail) diversion just outside of L’Estampe to make it safer for walkers. However, safety standards didn’t apply to the gentleman it would seem.

Day 7 of 12 – Chasserades to Le Bleymard: Walking the Chemin de Stevenson (GR 70 Robert Louis Stevenson Trail) in the south of France.

Across the fields one wanders - Chemin de Stevenson-2018-D7-15 by Andrew Priest, on Flickr

Heading out through the fields as part of the diversion of the Chemin de Stevenson (GR 70 Robert Louis Stevenson Trail) just outside of L’Estample. It was actually a nice change in the walking environment.

Day 7 of 12 – Chasserades to Le Bleymard: Walking the Chemin de Stevenson (GR 70 Robert Louis Stevenson Trail) in the south of France.

This is part of the long 00 footpath in the Tosco Emilian Apennines that follows the main ridge that we call the "Crinale". I have done most of it, bit by bit.
Here we are in the "Parco Cento Laghi" (Hundred Lakes Park) above Parma. You can hike here all day sometimes and not meet anybody.
I never would have guessed that was Italy! Reminds me of the Pyrenees in Spain (which I have not been to either). Beautiful photos!

Esfatte Brayes - Chemin de Stevenson-2018-D7-18 by Andrew Priest, on Flickr

Climbing now pass the 1300 m mark into the higher reaches of the Foret Domaniale du Goulet. This area is known as Esfatte Brayes. We soon left the D 120 as we entered the forest.

Day 7 of 12 – Chasserades to Le Bleymard: Walking the Chemin de Stevenson (GR 70 Robert Louis Stevenson Trail) in the south of France.

Circumnavigating Mt Cooke - Monadnocks National Park by Andrew Priest, on Flickr

The first stage of a walk of Mt Cooke took us along the western base of the mountain on a track which crosses five creeks so, in fact, a lot of short sharp ups and downs. Willow whilst enjoying it was feeling the effort a little bit by the looks as was Ibu Anne.

Trees of honour – Les Alpiers - Chemin de Stevenson-2018-D7-24 by Andrew Priest, on Flickr

Entering a grove of trees as we descend to Les Alpiers, our destination for the day not that much further along the path well-trodden.

Day 7 of 12 – Chasserades to Le Bleymard: Walking the Chemin de Stevenson (GR 70 Robert Louis Stevenson Trail) in the south of France.
