Right river, wrong reservoir. Gorge Lake, just upriver from Newhalem. Gorge Dam is just out of frame, to the lower right.

Yes, sadly. The highway is still closed and the spot where I took this is within the wildfire incident perimeter, according to the maps.

Panasonic GH3 | M.Zuiko 12-50 (Cross-post from Challenge thread)

The upper shot is the flower.
Over a period of a year it develops into the fruiting spike in the lower image.
The whole plant is poisonous except for the ripened fruit.
It is edible and supposedly tastes like a combo of banana and pineapple.
I haven't had the courage to try it yet.

Absolutely massive underground cavern. Quite a few of these stalactites really were green, it was not the artificial lighting. Copper in the water I guess? Very tricky/impossible to get the WB right though...

Recently picked up a GM1 and 12-32 as a replacement for an RX100 lost in a kayaking accident. Loving it so far and a great compliment to my EM-5.
