Excellent work---practice make perfection. Keep at it!!!!!!!!The quality of the photos in this thread just amazes me. In the past I had not been much interested in shooting these critters; I was quite content admiring the work of others. This year it seems I have a little more time on my hands with little to shoot so I thought I'd take a closer look at my own surroundings. Nothing fancy here, no focus stacking, macro lenses, extension tubes, etc. Just shot with whatever camera was in hand when I noticed them.

Nicely done. It definitely pays to have a macro lens, but I just use longer lenses and try to nail the focus on the head. The quality of the photos in this thread just amazes me. Was the bug ok once it thawed out?Still trying to see how much magnification I can get from my Oly 60mm lens + 10mm extension tube + Raynox 250. Captured and froze a stinkbug to use under a controlled setting.
