I think this is a red-spotted purple butterfly on lantana flowers.

It's a swallowtail of some sort. I remember chasing one or two of those across Marine Park in Brooklyn when I was a kid in the late 50's and early 60's. They were relatively common. The yellow ones (Tiger Swallowtails) were the real prize.

Thank you for the correction. I've posted a couple of pictures of a tiger swallowtail and one of a zebra swallowtail earlier, but the colors of this one confused me.

Found a bush today full of small solitary bees. I think this one is Amegilla albigena. One of the more difficult insects I've photographed this summer!

Nice shot Thomas, I can never get that close to dragonflys with the 60 mm.

Thank you. It is not stacked. It was take with the 40-150 f/2.8 with extension tubes; 150mm, f/2.8, 1/1250, ISO 250.
