Cloudless sulphur butterfly alighting on a salvia flower. Clear shadow of coiled proboscis can be seen on the underside of the wing.
E-P5 + Panasonic 100-300mm; 1/2000 s, f/5.6, ISO 400, F.L. 300 mm, focusing distance 9.5 ft/2.9 m.

It's a bit cold in Beijing, so I shot this guy from the local butterfly house. You've got to practice somewhere, and it was a bit cold and windy outside to find any insects that weren't frozen. It's my first attempt at stacking - focus bracketed, 20 shots; I missed some artifacts, but that's life.

This guy was caught from the resort complex balcony and was on the other side of the road about 15M away... Shoot with EM1mk2 and PL100-400 @ 400mm an effective 800mm of reach.
Have a couple more in flight to process.
The Ulysses Butterfly has become less common in this region in the last couple of years so it was with some excitement I seen this one this morning :)
