A four-spotted chaser from june this year. Now in july it is rainy and rather cold so much lower activity from dragonflies.

It's that time of year again. This is not the biggest horsefly in our region, but this is the largest one should pay close attention to - Tabinus bovinus. The clue is in the name, as it prefers cattle to humans, but if you happen to be around one and you're sweating...... watch out! About an inch and half long, and quite noisy.....unlike the silent 'clegg'

Dude - you got in pretty close with the 30mm macro to get this shot! No sweat on you I presume then?!!
