One of our roses got blown off by the wind so i brought it inside to take some photos. While doing this a greenfly came into view. I got my Panagor 90mm macro lens out to get some shots of the fly but it was very small in the frame even at 1:1, I added my Raynox 150 to the macro lens to get these.
No crops just tweaked in DXO PL.

A photo from today of the Boss of the pond.
I hope one day he will be landing in a spot with a better background.
He picks places that are pretty hard for me to get to
but I am already happy when he is landing somewhere at all :)
He is so busy, the others rest way more then him.
At one moment I thought he died.
He was cruising low over the water and I saw a frog jumping out at him
and I did not see him anymore.
Then a minute later he is back on his rounds ... pfew :)

Should've had a tripod with me.... difficult to get completely still at the long end with these small flies

Found a Jersey Tiger moth (Euplagia quadripunctaria) on the kitchen window sill this morning. Took it outside for a quick photo before it fled unerringly for the dark parts of the privet hedge.

It reminded me of a magistrate I once knew, complete with ermine cloak - who was ALWAYS having a bad day.

Just think that this beauty, a few hundred million years ago had a wingspan of 70 cm.
Not sure I would wanna get this close if it was that big now :)
I wonder why it got so much smaller, anyone knows ?
