Attacus atlas moth - Kemenuh Butterfly Park, Bali, Indonesia by Andrew Priest, on Flickr

Attacus atlas, the Atlas moth, is a large saturniid moth endemic to the forests of Asia. The species was first described by Carl Linnaeus in his 1758 10th edition of Systema Naturae.

We spent a fair bit of time exploring the Kemenuh Butterfly Park in Bali, Indonesia. I can highly recommend it if you are in Bali and in the Ubud area.

What amazing 'eyes'! I bet they keep a few predators at bay. Do you know what this is a caterpillar of, Mike?
I don't know. My neighbor called me and pointed at cos she knows about my loving for photography. She only told me that they will be butterflies, the caterpillar not the neighbors.

BTW, thanks for your kind words

A (slightly out-of-focus) katytid (bush cricket) eyeing some strange, tiny insect (anyone knows what it is? Thanks!)

I think that this might be a (young? quite a bit smaller than others I've seen) [blue?] mud dauber wasp (family: Sphecidae).
