Definitely an impressive shot either way. I think I prefer the uncropped image, it seems a little less crowded to me even though it includes even more gulls, but I could go either way on the processing. You didn't shoot it 50 or so years ago, did you, on the set of Alfred Hitchcock's "The Birds"? That scene would have fitted into that movie just fine.
