It was cold and wet over the weekend. I managed to photograph these during breaks in the weather at one of our local gardens

I am not a bird in flight guy but was out in the yard working today and four Hawks were buzzing around over head.
I grabbed, the camera, and tried to remember what I have read here on the forum.

Several 3x3 or 4x4 focus boxes in the center.
C-AF, Sequential Low, Aperture up 2/3 or so from wide open to get a touch more DOF, and ISO up a bit to get shutter speeds in the 4000 range.

Results, my keeper rate was terrible and I am really bad at tracking birds. It was a fun game, however, to try to capture them and I hope to do it again.

I am even more in awe of the many great photos of BIF that I see on the site. These were all cropped since the birds did not have the courtesy to drop down any closer to me.

Excellent set of images and you really have got super captures for sure. BIF is surely a challanging portion of mft how I wish the C-af was as good as old days dslr holding capacity instead more of AI stuff though..

Nothing exciting but I am happy that I am getting better with my P100-300 II and producing a few keepers.

Been busy with Friday all day outing. Had lots of images to go through. But I will start with a male Northern Parula close up. The bird is under 5inch in length from tip of the beak to tail end fairly tiny and never stayed still. I was about a few meters away for this one with good anticipation and luck. I took quite a few more at about 4 meters away and will post those later.

Here is a link about the bird https://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/Northern_Parula/id

Finally, Osprey images. Light was not great but not bad either. I took way too many image as usual and will have to spend days to go through :). But I will start with these 3. Bird dove facing out so I will have to wait for that talons out near water later :).

First image was cropped to 4MB, second to 10MB and third to just under 9MB. All were shot with C-AF 5x5, IS on but prioritize FSP with -2 sensitivity.
