Speaking of magpies, I had an encounter with a fuzzy baby today; it had been left on a gum tree stump, and no adults nearby, but I spied another couple of youngsters up in a tree a short distance away. I spoke quietly to it, took a few photos, then got out of everyone's way.

Richard, much appreciated for the kind words. I finally learned to work with what present to me. The weather was not great with no sun light that morning. Rather than pushing the ISO with high shutter speed, I kept ISO low with slow shutter speed and accepted to come up with wings in motion. I surprised by the results as the wings are better than I had expected.

Anyhow, gotta give credit to Andy Rouse, Espen Helland and Petr B I followed.

No secret.
It's a pelican. He did me the favour of posing in backlight before a dark background. I darkened the background even more with DXO Photolab 3.

Local ebird site says warblers are migrating back down south. Got this little one this morning, but can't identify it. I thought it was a White-Eyed Vireo but my book shows that's not it. Western NY location ... thanks for the help.
