This little head-banger has been visiting the bathroom window a lot lately, so I finally unpacked my P100-300 and waited to get a clear shot through the (filthy) window.

Dry lightning strikes in the past 24-hours have caused many spot fires in farmland and native forest in every direction in an 80 kilometre radius, and while my community isn't directly threatened, smoke has been brought to us from all directions. It was eerie to walk around before sunset and hear few birdcalls; no doubt yesterday's intolerable mid-40s Celsius heat, and the smoke, knocked them about. This sulfur-crested cockatoo looked pretty dejected, though I may be anthropomorphising a bit.

Haven't posted anything of Mrs Blackbird for a while - still loud and proud and even coming inside the house after the cat's food. However she was angry that the bowl was empty the other day was complaining in no uncertain terms. Uncropped with the 40-150 Pro with MC14 on the good "old" E-.
