Mrs Blackbird scolding me for letting the cat's bowl go empty. Quite pleased with the shot as it is uncropped, at 35mm equiv 420mm tele zoom at 1/80th second - you can tell because her lower jaw is flapping and blurred away while her eye and the feathers are pin sharp thanks to the E-M5 MkII IBIS. Oh and the bokehlicious M43 background ...

This cardinal appears to be in distress. Is she molting [moulting]? I've seen other birds in a similar condition.
I was wrong: she is taking a dust bath to rid itself of mites-- many thanks to @Bidkev for explaining this to me (see his reply below).

Not the sharpest of pics but a rare find in daylight and although normally I can hand hold at these speeds, I'd just scrambled up a high bank and after slipping and taking a bit of a tumble, I had the shakes  .Didn't have time to up the iso as I knew she would disappear once she spotted me.

Wow, how lucky were you! I've never seen these in the wild. Don't you think they look like a kind of feathered possum, with their cute, whiskery faces?

Thank you so much: makes a lot of sense. I didn't know birds did that.
Or possibly ‘sunning’, as was this dunnock in my garden a while ago...
