Hi Everybody,

Had a nice week off at the shore and spent some time chasing birds with my 300 f/4 and also a Panny 200 f/2.8 that I rented for the week.

Nothing particularly special here, but I am rather happy to see that we have wrens nesting in the house we put up behind our place. Annoyingly, the Red-winged Blackbirds give them all kinds of grief.

Do not mess with Mr. Swallow. He's eyeing the wren box, but was too late and found it had tenants already.

Certainly my favorite shot. Young Bald Eagles on the nest. There is a third one in here too, but he doesn't seem to be part of he conversation. Used the 2.0x TC on the 300 f/4 and a tripod to get this picture.

RWB giving a Great Blue Heron the business out over the 'lagoon'. This was taken with the PL200 and 2.0 TC. It came out pretty soft (possibly through my errors) and I had to hit it pretty hard with Sharpen AI. I like the picture, though.

Trumpeter Swans. We call them 'Goose Be Gone', because they chase away the Canada Geese. Same as above, PL200 + 2.0 TC. Needed a bit of sharpening. For some reason DXO PL2 does not have a module for the EM1X and PL200 when paired with either TC.

Juvenile Bald Eagle in flight. PL200 + 1.4 TC

Trumpeter, much closer. PL200 +1.4 TC

Finally a Green Heron. This is the PL200 + 2.0TC. Included to show that the Pl200 2.0 is very nice close, although it seems to soften up quite a bit as the distance increases. I do not notice that nearly as much with the 300 f/4 and either TC.

Thanks for looking.

Russ

Hummingbird shot last year in Palm Desert while on holiday.
I have the trial version of Topaz denoise Ai and it does seem to have enhanced the image.
