Getting up close to this small Rainbow Lorikeet can really make it hard at times.
With the PL100-400mm lens at the distance to the bird I had about 1 cm for depth of focus and the bright sky backdrop really messed with exposure.
But with the current mobility restrictions I'll take any time to take an image.

That's a beauty Allan, so colourful and typically cheeky looking.
Really lovely birds we have. Privileged.

Here's a different variety
Green Rosella ~ Platycercus caledonicus
I think this is a juvenile

We are privileged that's for sure. There is nothing like the time we spend looking and enjoying these birds.
Enjoyed your images as I don't think we get your green rosella so far north, but I could be wrong as my wife often says.

I went for a walk yesterday, and parked under this red-tailed hawk. I took the shot with the 300 f/4 and MC-14.

I then took off for the walk with the 40-150 f/2.8 and MC-20 mounted on the camera. The red-tailed hawk came back with a partner and put on a show for us.

There are 33 photos in the sequence, so you get a Flickr link to the album.

I gather many are struggling to get about if not impossible.
Here, we are still relatively free to roam provided its work, food, or medical and I also have 90 acres to roam, plus birds all around the house
But Tasmania has very strict control on entry due to our island status which is very good.

Tasmanian Native Hen ~ Tribonyx mortierii
They are usually very flighty birds but a couple have got so used to me they just look up or continue their antics - in this case leg stretching. It went on for a short while then resumed eating
