Tasmanian Native Hen ~ Tribonyx mortierii
They nearly ran into my lens. Not sure why they were so curious. Normally wary birds or plain flighty

I had already given up on seeing swans this year.
BUT
The other day when I went out to shoot some mushrooms
in a local park, that has a small lake,
I could not believe my eyes.
I could not get close enough and since I only had my
kit lens 12-32 with me, I decided to go back home
and grab the FZ1000 :)
Having my fingers crossed all the way back,
hoping they would be still there.
I was so excited when I saw them
that I totally forgot to look good at my setting haha
Only two shots turned out OK
So next day I went back and took some more.
This time paying more attention :)

I love the black background, very dramatic. To me it looks like the swans are swimming uphill. I think the horizontal should be parallel to the bottom of the upright swan.

edit: It looks great now, @MonikaO .

Birds of prey at Sheffield today
@Avondale87 Thanks Chris. She certainly knows her stuff. Amazing how kids change when they find something that interests them. Up to the age of 18 she was really shy and you couldn't get two words out of her. Do you mind if I share these with her?
