An eagle shot from my brother-in-laws yard. Spent an hour or so on his dock trying get one fishing but they were very uncooperative. I turned around and there was the eagle just watching us from atop a big old fir.

Little Corella in Carindale.

The cockatoo family is my favourite species of parrot (that includes galahs, corellas and cockatiels) but corellas are my favourite overall. I love their cheeky little laughs

Nineteen years ago, I was carrying my Nikon D1 at our nature center when I heard a rustling noise in the weeds. I slowly approached and found this bird, Bittern?, just standing on the water edge. It continued to just stand and showed no fear nor thought of moving. This is one of the shots taken with the D1 with the 2Mb

sensor. It has held up well over the years. Loved that D1.

It is a juvenile Yellow-crowned Night Heron.
