Had the greatest luck today. Found 4 whinchat couples within a km in a nature reserve we like. Usually I'm happy to see one. Learned today that Whinchats have been move to the flycatcher family.

That's a superbly curated selection of photos, and I'm intrigued about the telescope - perhaps you could direct me to a previous discussion about how you shoot, if you've already done so?

Took the G9 and an adapted Tamron 200-500 A-mount to work. Not awful, but my focus point is clearly on the front of the roof in several shots and the DOF got me. I kept wishing I had a Panny lens and animal detect. If there's decent light and I can remember I'll bring the PL 100-400 and try again tomorrow.
