female Superb Fairy Wren
we have at least two dozen of these beauties with a mix of males which at this time of year don't have their vibrant blue (males ie) feathers although there was one today beautifully attired but not in a photogenic mood.

I love photographing Terns diving for minnows. They move so fast, dive from 20+ meters high into cold water and pull out a fish. Then they twist in the air to dry off and often lose their fish in the process. Once in a while I get lucky with some shots that catch that moment.

Thanks for sharing these wonderful shots! Don’t sell yourself short—not just luck, but skill, too.

Question: Do these birds ever hang out in groups? I was just wondering, because one good tern deserves another…
